Walkin' The Dog--RealAudio
A rollicking EP debut from these California dudes, as they show the first glimpses of their slashing arena-crunch style. More over-the-top than Aerosmith; perhaps what can be pointed to as the pre-Guns 'n Roses (Appettite) sound? Whatever the distinction, the beginning of a solid mainstream-metal career, without ever really wimping out.
"Sweet Cheater" is loud and brash, and "U Got It" continues the pace and rolls along nicely. "Back For More" will later appear in a retooled format on the followup 'Out of the Cellar', but still has some nice, biting guitars on the version featured here.
"Walkin' the Dog" is an Aerosmith cover, and is oh so nasty! Pearcy struts his stuff, much like his vocal counterpart Tyler had done for years prior...
