Texas hard edge metal. It wasn't until their fifth album "Cowboys From Hell" that the band reached popularity. Since then the unit has grown even heavier, losing most notably their excellent emotional vocals--which now often give way to more of a scream. Guitarist Dimebag Darrell is regarded as one of the best in the genre, in terms of shear riff and distorted sound.
