The Quiet Room--Introspect
Rating--7.9
Drowning--RealAudio
Progressive metal with tinges of Dream Theater, though more bottom-heavy. It is similar to E.P.-era
Queensryche, and the guitar sound is somewhat reminiscent of Symphony X-- though not nearly as rapid
or shredding. A somewhat technical quality to the distortion.
Vocally, the singing is clear and high-end.
Good riffing is present in "A Different Scene," while a
number of other above-par tracks show up with "Second Time," "Laughing at Your Expense," "Suspended Seconds," and "Undetermined".
Harmonics slice away
in "Grudge," and stop-and-go riffing is the norm for "Drowning". "Extramental," an all-instrumental track, is solid as well.
