Pro-Pain--Foul Taste of Freedom (1992/Energy)
Rating--7.4

Pound For Pound--RealAudio
Gruff, shouting vox, though understandable. Pro-Pain's comparisons are hard to pinpoint, because there are grooving chords and pulse infested rhythms, as well as occasionally chunky shades of punk. A little Stuck Mojo, some Suicidal Tendencies... even the devil-may-care atmosphere of Faith No More and the early, brash Beastie Boys. The band becomes more consistently hardcore and metallic in the future, and one constant remains lots of energy.
The opening title track is slamming and rhythmic, and is followed by some nasty and grooving high-hat work in "Pound For Pound." "God Only Knows" is a steady treat, and "Lesson Learned" is tough and no-nonsense.
Other good tracks include "Death Goes On" and "Picture This".
