Phoenix Down--Under a Wild Sky (2000/Frontiers) Rating--7.4

Good hard rock from this project led by Kane Roberts--former guitarist for Alice Cooper. There are strains of lighter bands such as The Storm, Bad English, and the like, but also moments that push more towards metal. The vocals are very enjoyable--along the lines of a tough, gritty Kip Winger. Good songwriting throughout, and a nice little project.
"Reckless" starts the disc with chopping cuts and a good, mewling chorus, and other solid sounds are featured in "I Want It Again," "Love Gone Wrong," and "Rebel Heart".
The more energetic "Blind" has some weighty voice-box sections, and "Neverland" is one of the album's heavier cuts.
