Come On--RealAudio
Penny Black is the new band of former Killer Dwarfs singer/guitarist Russ Graham. This disc starts out in a similar
sassy style, as "Come On" is rambunctious and good. Graham sounds the same as over a decade ago, which will take many a fan back. The band comparisons
start to fizzle out after that, though, as few other cuts make much of a heavy mark, in terms of songwriting and distortion. The disc is unfortunately dominated by slower,
lighter pieces.
The other songs with some "rock" to them include "Strange Dreams," "Turn Around," and "Happy Everything". The rest have just too much of a
laid-back, non-metal feel.
