Metal from New York, Pipebomb mixes thick chords with methodical and grinding rhythms. Shades of Mr. Blackwell show up, but overall the material is not as tempo-driven. The vocals move from soulful to deep, and that variety is one of the band's strengths.
The strong flow of "Neighbor" makes it a top highlight, and other tough bass-driven cuts include "Cell," "Dead," "Restitution," and "Knock".
