Revolution is My Name--RealAudio Goddamn Electric--RealAudio

A tremendously accurate title... as this marks a return of the nasty, crunching distortion... the ripping attitude stalks... and even Phil's smooth vocals, in places! The boys have buckled down and honed in on their riff-laden songwriting niche of old, and the result is some of the band's finest moments in years. Let's see how the metal scene shapes up this summer... Pantera could very well find themselves thrust to the top, if the cards fall right...
From the first flange-induced chord effects of "Hellbound," you just know this disc is gonna rip. "Goddamn Electric" winds with a mewling, spine-tingling groove, and stuttering, spitfire verses cut through "Revolution is My Name".
Check out the double-time palm strafes in "We'll Grind That Axe," coupled with the pre-chorus hammering! Heavy stuff! "Uplift" is a pounding track, and both "Death Rattle" and "I'll Cast a Shadow" are good.
"Yesterday Don't Mean Shit" has a faster, rolling rhythm, while "It Makes Them Disappear" is a slower, creeping track. Anselmo makes it talk, though.
Yes... it has been reinvented, indeed...
