Ozzy Osbourne--The Ultimate Sin (1986)
Rating--8.7
After a one album semi-hiatus, the full-tilt crunch is definitely back. The way Jake E. Lee cuts loose on the song "Bark at the
Moon" from the same-named album is the way he handles all of them on 'The Ultimate Sin'-- except the riffs are even nastier!
The two most known songs from this disc are the title track and the atmospheric "Shot in the Dark". While both are very
good, the others are actually heavier and more musically in-depth. Lee shows off a vast array of talents that were left largely
uncovered on the previous offering.
Other highlights include "Lightning Strikes," "Secret Loser," "Never Know Why,"
and "Never".
HOT CHOPS: The absolutely amazing backbone riff to "Lightning Strikes". Wow!! Also, the opening riff and then subsequent groove/beat
to "Never". Very, very solid metal.
TRACK LIST: The Ultimate Sin/Secret Loser/Never Know Why/Thank God For the Bomb/Never/Lightning Strikes/Killer of Giants/Fool Like You/Shot in the Dark
