Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads--Tribute (1987)
Rating--8.5

Crazy Train--RealAudio
This disc was supposedly one of the main reasons Ozzy and Jake E. Lee split ways---Ozzy's seemingly over-obsessive fixation on Rhoads. True, it probably caused some tension and was awkward following the success of 'The Ultimate Sin'... but in reality, an album like this was inevitable.
This disc does an excellent job showcasing Rhoads' live skills, as it is taken from a concert between the 'Blizzard' and 'Diary' albums. Rhoads rips through all the tunes, improving and ad-libbing on many of the songs above-and-beyond the studio versions. Also included are some intimate studio out-takes of the "Dee" recording sessions. All in all, an excellent live album and tribute to a budding guitar god whose end came way too soon.
Highest points: "Crazy Train," "Flying High Again," and "Suicide Solution".
HOT CHOPS: Man, does anyone else remember that "Crazy Train" vid with the flying-V guitar cruising over the train tracks?!? This song absolutely rips live.
TRACK LIST: I Don't Know/Crazy Train/Believer/Mr. Crowley/Flying High Again/Revelation (Mother Earth)/Steal Away (The Night)/Suicide Solution (with guitar solo)/Iron Man/Children of the Grave/Paranoid/Goodbye to Romance/No Bone Movies/Dee (Randy Rhoads studio out-takes)
