Ozzy Osbourne--No Rest For the Wicked (1988)

Bloodbath in Paradise--RealAudio
Due to the fact that the two singles from this disc-- "Miracle Man" and "Crazy Babies"-- were less-than-catchy tunes, it didn't do as well commercially as some of the past releases. And now, as a result, the disc is somewhat overlooked in Ozzy's catalog. 'Tis a shame, though. It's one of Ozzy's heaviest and best, bar none.
Exit Jake E. Lee, enter young guitar stud #3---Zakk Wylde. This guy can play, and is the king of the biting and perfectly-placed harmonic. Listen to his songs and you'll know what I mean. Wylde, while having a distinctive style all his own, is at the same time more reminiscent of Rhoads than Lee was. Anyway, enough of the comparisons...
This one has some blistering tracks on it, including "Devil's Daughter," "Breaking all the Rules," "Bloodbath in Paradise," and "Demon Alcohol". Solid throughout.
HOT CHOPS: Check out the opening riffs in both "Demon Alcohol" and "Breaking all the Rules," as well as that cool chant-verse at the end of "Rules". Also, if you close your eyes and take a trip back a little ways, you'll swear that's Randy playing on "Bloodbath". Listen to those double-time riffs in the 2nd verses!
