Overkill--Under the Influence (1988)
Rating--7.7
Hello From the Gutter--RealAudio
A thrashy and fairly all-out effort, despite the fact that the band only featured one guitarist at the time. Pretty much every
song is solid, fitting in the classic energized Megadeth/Anthrax vein.
Churning chords, riffs galore, and pit-grooving moshers dot the horizon, making this disc the perfect fodder any time you can't
quite decide on what to listen to... but you know you want to get pumped.
HOT CHOPS: There's a great slow-down riff in the middle of "Brainfade," and check out the overall churn of "Drunken
Wisdom." Nice...
