Overkill - Kill Box 13 (2003/Spitfire)

The One--RealAudio

Since the mid-80s Overkill has carried the American name-tag of "most consistent band". Their brand of thrashing, groove-oriented pit metal has provided many tasty moments over the past 20 years, and there's never really been a disappointing release from the Jersey boys. Grooves and rhythms are found throughout 'Kill Box 13', and this stands as one of their top releases in recent years.
Virtually every track stands out in its own right. "Devil By the Tail" is a solid opener, and a nice chopping verse-strut marks "No Lights". "The One" is full of good churning, and the nasty "Crystal Clear" is doomy in nature.
In true Overkill fashion, a mid-track slow down groove works its way through "The Sound of Dying", and "I Rise" closes the effort out in backmoving fashion.
A very solid, concrete release.
