Overkill - Feel the Fire (1985/Megaforce)
Rating - 7.7

A successful debut album from these New Jersey thrash legends. There are some early-career Anthrax sounds heard here, as swift chug-thrashing is the norm. The production and whatnot will improve in the near future, but this is still good mid-80s thrash, and comparable with anything else that was out at the time.
The anthemic chorus of "Rotten to the Core" can still be heard at shows today, and "Hammerhead" has a good and chugging chorus. "Blood and Iron" is fast and wide-open, the title track is galloping, and "Kill on Command" is nice as well.
