Starting as leaders of an oncoming thrash genre, the band would take a significant turn as time went on. One of the biggest names in metal and on the planet. The band has lost its thrashy beginnings, opting for a more straight up style of rock. Bassist Cliff Burton (who wrote a lot of early material for the band) was killed in a tour bus accident and was replaced by Jason Newsted. Excellent first four albums.
