Ted Nugent--Double Live Gonzo (1978/Epic)
Rating--6.0

The Motor City Madman shows good energy on this live release, but the overall song selection leaves a bit to be desired. Still, a great reminder of his live presence and talent, as the man definitely knows how to put on a show. I once saw him open for Kiss---man, talk about a night where all the stops were pulled out! Most excellent..... but I digress! (Big surprise, huh?)
"Just What the Doctor Ordered" is a good opener, and "Stranglehold" comes across strong as well - but the studio version is tougher.
The bluesy rock attitude of "Yank Me, Crank Me" displays the Nuge's tongue-in-cheek demeanor, and his ultimate classic "Cat Scratch Fever" naturally makes an appearance, fitted nicely near the end of the show.
