No Respect--The American Dream (1994/Retrospect)
Rating--8.4
Here to Stay--RealAudio
Some nasty and ripping metal that smacks of the bad boy L.A. scene of old, conjuring images of GNR,
L.A. Guns, and early Skid Row, as well as some of the early carefree
work of both Saigon Kick and Ugly Kid Joe.
Opening slasher "Here to Stay" is nasty and caustic, with some steamrolling harmonics and pulloffs. "At My Worst" is raunchy
and fine, and "Don't Give a Damn" follows suit.
A number of other solid tunes fill out the set, including "Parallel,"
"Over and Over," and "Whose Life Is It Anyway?"
Not sure what happened to the band after this release, but they
definitely deserve the opportunity to try and resurface...
