At the Ends of the Earth - mp3

Nightrage is a melodic death unit from the guitar (and creative) wizard Gus G -- he of Dream Evil, Firewind, and Mystic Prophecy. While his other three groups/projects are power metal, he has no problem at all tapping into the brutal energy required of melodic/death guitarwork. Instant credence is also given by way of vocals provided by Tomas Lindburg (At the Gates, The Crown). In the bouncy and cutting classic Gothenburg style, this one is full of chops and adrenaline, and adds a few mid-paced tracks to the fray as well, for a nice change of pace. Well worth the buy for fans of the genre, or for Gus G enthusiasts.
Numerous tracks smoke from the get-go: "The Tremor," "Macabre Apparition," and "At the Ends of the Earth," to name a few. "The Glow of the Setting Sun" has a steady, power metal (musical) feel, with "Elusive Emotion" and "Ethereal" being somewhat similar.
"Hero" has a great slow-down section with some clean vocals, and the light/heavy mix of "Circle of Pain" also features a guest appearance by Everygrey's Tom Englund.
