Nocturnal Rites - New World Messiah (2004/Nuclear Blast)
Rating - 8.2

Nocturnal Rites stays in the same consistent niche where they've been for the last few releases, with fairly melodic Euro Power Metal being the norm. For newcomers to the band, think a heavier Axel Rudi Pell, or a slightly lighter Gamma Ray. Polished and good on all fronts.
"Against the World" is a bottom-heavy song with an excellent layered chorus. "The Flame Will Never Die" is another thick track, and stuttering riffs help to set the pace for "One Nation." Other good songs include "Awakening," "Egyptica," "End of Days," the swift "Avalon," and the title track.
