November 67--Welcome to the Revolution (1997)
Rating--7.2
September--RealAudio
A fairly raw and straight-forward distortion sound, and good use of chords to power the music. A little grungy in the vein
of My Sister's Machine and heavier Soundgarden, and in the top spots a lot like
Tesla. In no means alternative, however--this is hard rock/metal.
Almost all of the songs are above par. "Won't Turn Away" and "New Day Rising" both feature very steady
choruses, and a methodical and almost pulsing feel is given to "September" and "Flower." The heaviest songs on the disc are
"Wicked Man" and "I'll Be Waiting," with a faster pace being featured on "Little Piece of Me" and the title track.
In all,
very well recorded, and fine musicianship. A band to check out if the above-mentioned distinctions are up your alley, as this
one will certainly tide you over. Bigger things could be in store for these guys...
