Nordream--Memories Progression (2000/Valiant)

Forcefed Memories--RealAudio
Heavy progressive metal from Russia, as this unit hails from Moscow. There's a lot of good musicanship here, as many of the atmospheric tracks feature extended sections without vocals, while in other places the band rocks out in normal fashion, complete with a double-bass backing. There are shades of Centaur, Threshold, and early Stratovarius, and bits of Dream Theater as well--though heavier.
Solid prog chops move "Forcefed Memories," while "Piercing Time Memories" has some grinding, nasty axework. A number of other songs are good, including "Memories of a Hope," "Vaguest of Dreams," "Memories I Love," and the strong, prog-ripping instrumental "Memories - A Heaven in Hell's Despair".
