Nevermore--Nevermore (1995/Century Media)
Rating--8.1

Garden of Gray--RealAudio
Much more along the lines of Warrel Dane's Sanctuary work than this band's sophomore release will be, as Nevermore stays in the power metal mold here. Very soon, though, it will merge into areas of extreme thrash.
Very similar to 'Into the Mirror Black' (especially the vocals), and the '90s Jag Panzer material is brought to mind as well. Thick and heavy.
A thrashy feel moves "C.B.F.," and the thumping and driving chorus of "Garden of Gray" is a highlight. Both "The Sanity Assassin" and "Timothy Leary" are heavy and solid, and "Godmoney" is full of notes and chops.
A very nice disc, and fits in excellently with the Sanctuary-to-Nevermore progression of your collection...
