A 5-track E.P. released right after the band's debut, this mixes the more "stable" chord sounds of the first album with a few hints of the thrashier upcoming style the band will employ.
Opening track "Optimist or Pessimist" has a good, constant flow, and "Matricide" is a heavy/light mix. "Silent Hedges/Double Dare" is up to par, and the slower, mood-creating piece "The Sorrowed Man" closes out the disc.
The band definitely turns it up a notch on the following offering.
