The Question Mark--RealAudio
Progressive metal... but too abstract and disjointed in places. Many times the attempt to be too proggy and tempo-shifting leads to the breaking up of otherwise good flows.
There are brief hints of Conception, Dream Theater, and 'Empire'-era Queensryche---but again, many times the band tries to do way more than is necessary, and ends up overplaying.
"Mystery House" has some chops, and "Nik Dyom" is good and moody. Fast cuts mark "Jeerotondo," while the driving and slashing sections of "The Question Mark" make it probably the disc's highest point.
"Amaranto" is a ripping little instrumental, and "Dominus," while having a nice and crunchy base, calls off the guitars in the verses---which totally stops all forward progress.
With more consistency and simply playing, this could be a powerful band to watch for in the future.
