Mindset--A Bullet For Cinderella (1999/Noise)
Rating--7.9

Sorry--RealAudio
Lots and lots of attitude. Mindset brings across a grunge-distorted feel at times (a la Gruntruck), mixed with the chord chunkiness and heavy pull-offs of a Sevendust or Mr. Blackwell. Vocally it's smooth and sustained, but also very biting when called for. The vocal blending reminds of King's X at times, though it can switch to anger in a flash. Once again, nice attitude.
The nasty chorus of "Giftwrap" starts things off in romping fashion, and "Sorry" follows with a rolling, heavy choral frame. The staccato piledriver guitar-and-bass pulse of "The System" is a highlight, and rapid guitar strafing fuels "w.b.p.m."
"Laugh" is menacing, and has a pit-fare feel at times.
A band to watch; great pissed-off music, though they don't waste chords with useless wankering. The rating may grow with time...
