Mob Rules - Hollowed Be Thy Name (2002/SPV)
Rating - 7.7

The third release from this neo/Euro/power unit is more of the same, with flecks of Angra and Balance of Power thrown in from time to time. The band isn’t really progressing or improving much at this point in its career, however. That’s not to say this is a bad release or anything -- it’s above-average power metal. There just haven’t been many strides made, considering this is their third release (in three years).
The opening title track has some strong and biting vocals, and the guitar/key mix of "Ghost Town" contains the allusion to Balance of Power. Rage’s Peavey Wagner makes a guest appearance on "How the Gypsy Was Born," and other good cuts include "House on Fire" and the eight-plus minute "Way of the World."
