When Shadows Fall - mp3

This supergroup of sorts features Gus G. (Dream Evil, Firewind, Nightrage) on guitars, and Dimitri Liapakis (Valleys Eve) on vocals. It is chock-full of solid and riff-etched metal music, but occasionally runs into the same "problem" that Valley's Eve had: the choruses end up all sounding very similar to one another. Still well worth the listen for the music alone, though; the band's musicianship will really peak with the next release.
"River of Hate" has some palm-muted stalking, "Dark Side of the Moon" is busting with chugging notes, "When Shadow's Fall" is riff-nasty (check out that section around the 2:20 mark), and "Welcome in the Damned Circle" is another strong offering.
Again, virtually every song is full of Gus G expertise; the lyric and vocal delivery holds things back a little at times, is all.
