Murder One--Murder One (1997/Point)
Rating--8.2

What Do You Prefer?--RealAudio
Fairly obscure power metal on a small label, but a good sound. This reminds quite a bit of Marshall Law, Primal Fear, and recent Sinner. The vocals are along the same lines, with dashes of Tim Owens and maybe Kai Hansen thrown in. In all, a very adequate release.
"Empires" is a crunchy track, and other nice spots include "Still Inside," "Murder One," and "Overload".
"Tangled in the Web" moves with a slow crackle, while "Standin' On the Edge" is thick and melodic, with an intricate Priest-like solo.
The top highlights can be found in the forms of the guitar-cutting "Down," and the nasty and hammering head-mover "What Do You Prefer?" We prefer more, please...
