Memory Garden--Verdict of Posterity (1999/Metal Blade)
Rating--8.0
Awkward Tale--RealAudio
Shades of Trouble (as the band's name might hint), as there are definite doom undertones here. At the same time, though, there is a bit
of a European flair involved. The vocals are higher than your regular doom fare, and in some places Roy Khan is actually brought to mind a bit. Some good deep-chord
grooving in places, as overall this is a solid release.
Numerous tracks stand out, including "Carved in Stone," "Tragic Kingdom," "Split Image," and "Wasteland Foretold".
"The Sum of All Fear" is a slow boiler, and "Awkward Tale" has a nasty mid-track groove.
