Money For the Toll--Da's Cup of Tea (1998/R.S.F.)
Rating--5.9
Disconnected (Part Two)--RealAudio
A bit of a Rush/Dream Theater/Pink Floyd mix, with dashes of
Dave Mathews-like vocals thrown in. A live recording, and very good quality. The band is based in New England, and has
obviously formed a solid following there.
Opening track "Disconnected (Part One)" has good pace and tempo shifting
throughout, but the group really breaks through on the final track (out of five)--"Disconnected (Part Two)". A heavy, churning
backbone, and nice & evil towards the end with a groove and organ pulse. A whole album like this smoker and you're in
some serious business...
