Metalium returns with its fourth release of above-standard power metal. However, they have yet to top their debut album, and have fallen behind numerous other German metal acts here in the new millennium (such as Brainstorm, Grave Digger, Rage, and so forth). That’s still good company to be in, however, even if they’re not breaking much new ground here. More of the spoken intros and interludes are featured, providing a bit of a "storytelling" atmosphere.
Both "No One Will Save You" and "Athena" are especially strong cuts. "Illuminated" is a bit slower in nature, but is moved by a slithering pace and some excellent vocals. "Pain Crawls in the Night" is good, and "Power Strikes the Earth" is nice and energetic.
