Morbid Angel--Domination (1995/Giant)
Rating--5.0

Dawn of the Angry--RealAudio
Some sludgey death metal, with deep and gurgley vocals--though not the deepest in DM, to be sure. Fast double-bass work, but there's not much to grab ahold of that makes the music stand out. No real groove or riff, and not a lot of speed, either.
The sludge grind of "Where the Slime Live" is a skullcrusher, and the head-moving, plodding-but-swift "Eyes to See, Ears to Hear" is strong. "Dawn of the Angry" is one of the disc's faster tracks, and has lots of guitar runs throughout.
While admittedly at this point the Death part of the thrash section of UMR is somewhat scant, there are better choices out there. Still, some people like the slow-moving, ultra-thick heaviness a lot--so take the rating with a grain of salt, depending on your personal likes.
