Lullacry - Crucify My Heart (2003/Century Media) Rating - 8.5 Better Days--mp3 'Crucify My Heart' is the third overall release from this Finnish band featuring soaring female vocals. This release showcases some killer, edged distortion. The music could be described as semi-melodic power metal, with the songwriting along the lines of steroid-injected AOR -- think a metallized Pat Benatar, or lighter Sinergy-meets-Dokken. Excellent chord-and-riff driven music. "Alright Tonight" is an extremely solid album opener, and is followed by the crunching light/heavy mix of the title track. "Every Single Day" has a back-lurching chorus, "Pitch Black Emotions" has stop-and-go thickness, and "This Time" is strong and flowing. "Better Days" cuts away nicely at your speaker set, "Don't Touch the Flame" is more than capable, and "Over Me" is a good slow song.
