Sins of a Father--RealAudio
Progressive metal, but not real swift and biting, pace-wise. The band's unwillingness to "break out" holds back some otherwise good songwriting and riffs. A big keyboard feel, but enough distortion as well. A bit like Dream Theater at times, musically. The end tracks carry the disc.
The solid and Dokken-like "Haunted" is a top highlight, and cutting and paced chops define "Serchin' For Answers". "Taking on the World" has a nice flow, and a strong chorus powers "Play By the Rules".
Other solid--but unextraordinary--fare includes "Sins of a Father," "Arabia," and "Judgment Day". The band shows a good deal of improvement on its sophomore effort.
