Lana Lane--Secrets of Astrology (2000/Limb)
Rating--8.1
Tarot--RealAudio
A much heavier release this time around, as there is a true, undeniable "metal" stamp on this offering. The symphonic strains are again present (thanks in part to
Arjen Lucassen and Erik Norlander), and there's also a good deal of prog tendencies. A very consistent release, and Lane's voice makes for many enchanting
moments.
Heavier cuts turn up in "Secrets of Astrology," "Raining," "Speed of Sound," and "Tarot". A nasty, mesmerizing chorus moves "Guardian Angel," and a
healthy handful of the remaining tracks are solid as well. A good collection-expander, as female vocals at this level are somewhat rare in the metal community.
