Lost Horizon-Awakening the World (2001/Koch) Rating-8.4

Power metal with fast drums, fast riffing, and plenty of bombastic themes. The bands brought to mind the most include Running Wild, Falconer, some Manowar and Hammerfall, and bits of romping Maiden. These guys get into the whole "warrior" aspect as well, going so far as to give themselves monikers such as "Cosmic Antagonist" and "Etheral Magnanimus". There are high-end vocals with good range, and soaring levels are attained when wanted. The closest voice comparison is Tony Moore of Riot, circa 1988.
The galloping "Sworn in the Metal Wind" matches up well with the similar "Welcome Back," and "The Kingdom of My Will" is a longer cut with a Maiden-like bass line.
Other top spots include "World Through My Fateless Eyes," "Denial of Fate," and the steady "Perfect Warrior".
