Loudness--Soldier of Fortune (1989/ATCO)
Rating--8.0
You Shook Me--RealAudio
American singer Mike Vescera takes over the vocal duties, and the result is basically a Mark Slaughter
sound-alike belting it out for Dokken. In other words, not too shabby!
Guitarist and band
leader Akira Takasaki continues to shred, and the result is another solid piece of late-eighties metal that is worth picking up
if you can find it.
Great riffs move the driving "You Shook Me," and the rumble energy of "Running For Cover" is strong as well.
The slicing and paced chorus of "Danger of Love" is a highlight, and a winding, tooling riff motivates "Long After Midnight."
"Demon Disease" is pure energy, and the sharp "Red Light Shooter" adds another bright spot to this nice package.
