Though many people may look to the "flashier" metal of the late '80s and scoff, it does has its advantages. In the case of Loudness, the band's music here is not nearly as cutting-sharp in terms of distortion, and the songs themselves are much slower paced than before. Instead of rocking out, there's more of a wandering feeling, as there are very few straight-forward tracks.
A head-moving verse drive stands out in "Evil Ecstasy," and "Dead Man Walking" is rolling and energetic. Of the remaining tracks, only the swaying rhythm of "San Francisco" and the winding "Creatures" manage to distinguish themselves too terribly much...
