George Lynch--Sacred Groove (1993)
Rating--8.2
Tierra Del Fuego--RealAudio
Solid solo effort released after the breakup of Lynch Mob and before reuniting with Dokken. Contains three fabulous instrumentals--"Love Power From the Mama Head", "Tierra Del Fuego", and "I Will Remember". The latter has a better version (IMO) on Dokken's 'One Live Night' disc. Artists whom Lynch worked with on this album: The Nelson brothers, Ray Gillen, Mandy Lion, and Glen Hughes.
"We Don't Own this World" is an AOR-sounding tune with the Nelsons singing, and they do a good job. "Cry of the Brave" is another good song, with Hughes on the vocals. Lynch really showcases his rhythm talents on this one--an aspect of his playing which is often overlooked amidst his blistering solos.
HOT CHOPS--Again, the three instrumentals. "I Will Remember" and "Tierra" have almost Spanish feels to them, while "Love Power" just rips your face off. Listen to that chug around 0:15-0:20!
