Killing Machine features a host of well-known metal talents, including the longstanding vocal giant James Rivera, as well as Dave Ellefson and Jimmy
DeGrasso of Megadeth fame. The music here is traditional metal with a tasty and attacking 2000's edge, though it does get a bit generic and formulaic
at times.
A small sidenote is that the tracklist on the CD booklet is off, but the choruses clear things up easily, so you should be able to discern the correct songs/names
without much trouble. All that aside... the band's namesake track is solid metal fare, with "Loup Garou" being a steady treat, with some etched guitar chops from
band frontman/former Peter Scheithauer. Other good tracks include "Scarred Beyond the Black," "Praise the Day," "In For the Kill," and "Burn in the Wind".
All in all,
this group definitely has the right musicians and metallic sound to be able to hang around for awhile. But as mentioned before, some of the tracks are a bit redundant. Perhaps a followup offering
will yield a breakthrough. And oh yeah... Rivera still sounds tremendous. Nothing wrong with an '80s Halford/Dane/Dio mix.
