Killer Khan--Kill Devil Hills (1999/Red Imp Music)
Rating--8.0
The Alamo--RealAudio
Musically Killer Khan churns along very much like Mercyful Fate, with shades of
Sabbath as well. Basically, a standard, no-nonsense NWOBHM sound. Vocally, it's almost
Ozzy to a 'T'! Uncanny!...
The grind of "Computer Icon" starts things off, with the faster gallopy
pace of the title track following on its heels. The slicing notes of "Wicked Chimes of the Southern Bells" stand out,
and "Supersonic Masquerade" has a nasty drive.
"Metal Death Star" has a slow pulsing rhythm, and a heavy grind accentuates
"Evilution," but the top highlight here is the destructive note groove of "The Alamo"... Gawd!
