Midnight Dynamite--RealAudio Walkin' Away--RealAudio

Everything comes together on this release, as crunching bar chord distortion is everywhere, and each song pulses with a lifeline of its own. Yes, the tracks are pretty simplistic in nature. And yes, there's some cheese and hairspray here and there. But rock is rock, bucky.
The title song drives from the onset, with a head-groove chorus and backbeat. "Red Hot" has excellent twin-guitar layering, and "Scalet Fever" has great sass--a catalogue favorite.
"Lie Like a Rug" is driving party rock, "Bang Bang (Balls of Fire)" and "Layin' Rubber" are both solid, and "Sex" is raunchy and just plain splendid.
"Walkin' Away" is one of my all-time fave power ballads. Mesmerizing keyboard dabblings, yearning and sincere vocals, and a tugging chorus. Great stuff all around.
I do believe another keg just arrived...
