Kiss--Smashes, Thrashes, & Hits (1988)
Rating--7.5
**U.S. Sales Certification--Multi-Platinum 2**

One of numerous attempts at a Kiss "best of" package, showcasing its (at the time) 15 year career. Is it possible to cram all the gems into only a 15-song allotment? No. Though a decent try, most of the swagger that makes a good Kiss song is scarce here. Two new songs are added, only taking up space for other possible classic tracks. You owe it to yourself to buy "Double Platinum" instead!
Highlights---"Heavens On Fire" and "Dr. Love" back to back are a nice touch, but where are "Cold Gin," "Shock Me," or "Rock Bottom"? Rest assured there would be more tries for "best of" Kiss yet to come---though it's starting to get a bit ridiculous here lately, what with all the unplugged albums, 'Alive' releases, and various other compilations...
