Love Gun--RealAudio
Kiss continue to infect the late 70's rock/metal influence with 'Love Gun,' threatening to never loosen its hold on shock-and-arena rock. A lot of fans were expcecting another 'Destroyer,' yet this one failed to come up quite as heavy. Ace's guitar sound is unmistakable and strong as ever, and shines through on the massive groove of "Shock Me". The title song is still a popular Kiss live treat, as well as the genital-obsessed "Plaster Caster" and sing-along "I Stole Your Love". The overall raunchiness that we'd come to expect and love is missing here, though, and couple that with not as many memorable heavy moments... and it may be a bit of a letdown.
HOT CHOPS--"Shock Me" is a double treat. Not only does it feature the monumental wicked sounds of Ace on the guitar, but also he displays his pipes on the lead vocals---and doesn't embarass himself in the least. Classic stuff. Check out the drum roll right after the chorus, heading back into the main riff. Excellent!
