Kiss: Dynasty (1979)
Rating--7.8
**U.S. Sales Certification--Platinum**
Things gets better... and maybe a little worse, at the same time. Kiss attacks back with a great album, yet it was
the beginning of an internal downfall due to drummer Peter Criss leaving the band soon after.
After the tantalizing sounds of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" die down, this
album rolls like a train on an open track. "2,000 Man" is an Ace-on-vocals treat, and you
just know he's sporting a devilish grin. "Dirty Livin" is a '70s riff frenzy, and "Sure Know
Something" (a recently resurrected hit) has a classic Kiss chorus. After a
string of so-so albums, the parent's nightmare retaliates here and takes back
what was rightfully the band's own: a place among the roots of rock/metal.
