Kiss--Crazy Nights (1987)
Rating--6.5
**U.S. Sales Certification--Platinum**

More 80s-style Kiss, though it gets a bit too sugary in spots on this one. Several songs have strong moments, but few can sustain the swagger throughout---where is the nasty? one might ask. Much too colorful for the bad boys.
"No, No, No" has a nice solo intro, ala George Lynch, and when the riff in "Good Girl Gone Bad" starts out you know who will be handling the vocal chores...
"Reason to Live" is a decent ballad, but still a bit off from what is the band's usual fare. Change is usually good, but not when it's in the form-fitting direction. Good for the ultimate fan/collector, but skip if you're looking for a first-take/first- impression of the band.
HOT CHOPS: "Hell of High Water" does (thankfully) contain a good chorus, with a strong riff and caustic Gene thump.
