Overall a bit slower paced than before, and the hooks and riffs do not appear to be as strong, either. As always with Diamond, though, he makes things interesting---but this one takes a few more listens to grab ahold of.
The top highlights are "Waiting" and "I'm Not a Stranger," and the super chunky and strong "Trick or Treat."
The longtime fan will find plenty of previous-album allusions throughout, which has been a longstanding trait and strongpoint of the King's...
