Katmandu--Katmandu (1991)
Rating--6.3

Dave King returns following his departure from Fastway, with his new project being lighter but at the same time a bit sharper and more advanced than his union with Fast Eddie Clark. Not as straight forward rock as his previous band, but still intriguing. The vocals are as hallowed as ever.
A number of songs are decent fare, although there are no true knock-down, standouts. The riffs of "Ready For the Common Man," when coupled with choir-like singing, make it a treat, as does the slow and grinding pace of "When the Rain Comes." "Medicine Man" is a solid track, as is "Love Hurts."
The acoustic and dream-like "Heart & Soul" is one of the most expansive tracks features, and a bit of a bonus is the pulsing bass-driven remake of U2's "God Part II"--a great ride.
A nice buy for King fans; otherwise, nothing landmark about this effort.
