Reckless--RealAudio
The band's first experiment with synths, and it didn't go over too well with fans. Not only is the sound different from the past (not as heavy or "deep"), but the songwriting is a little altered as well. Several "happy" sounding songs, which left a few followers scratching their heads.
However, despite the numerous alteration, there are still a number of songs which are particularly strong. "Turbo Lover" is a building piece, and "Locked In" has some sharp chops. "Out in the Cold" is an atmospheric trip, and "Reckless" contains great energy.
HOT CHOPS--All of "Out in the Cold" has a dark, moody feel to it. As for "Reckless"-- It's probably one of the two or three most overlooked Priest songs ever, as it has great vocal verses, high emotion, and is full of energy. If this song had shown up on 'Screaming' or 'Defenders' it could have been a classic... but the 'Turbo' sound just doesn't do it justice.
