Impellitteri--Stand in Line (1988/Relativity)
Rating--7.7

Stand In Line--RealAudio
This is the only non-Rob Rock vocal appearance on an Impellitteri offering, as throaty Graham Bonnet steps in for a one-album tour of duty. Keyboard work is present, in the symphonic, Malmsteen mold. Not as riff-etched as the band will soon become; perhaps this album should have been named something along the lines of "When They Were Still Mortals," because that distinction will change in a few years...
The title track has very strong verses, and "Secret Lover" is fast and swift. A chugging chord backbone moves "Tonight I Fly," with cutting chops aiding the swift pace of "Goodnight and Goodbye."
The instrumental "Playing With Fire" is tight, compact, and fast, as Chris Impellitteri starts to move towards the top of his musical field.
